How Velociraptor Played Chess

“Clever girl,” whispered Robert Muldoon, sweat on his brow, staring at the chessboard.

Across from him sat a Velociraptor.

Yes, that Velociraptor—from Jurassic Park. And she was crushing it.

It all started on a quiet afternoon in the park, between containment breaches and screaming tourists. Muldoon thought he could unwind with a nice, intellectual game of chess. You know, 32 finely sculpted dinosaur pieces on the board, brains over brawn, ancient strategy and all that. He brought out the Jurassic Park Chess Set by The Noble Collection — with dinosaur figures such as Tyrannosaurus Rex, Spinosaurus, Dilophosaurs, Velociraptors, Brachiosaurs and the Pteranodons.

He didn’t expect the Velociraptor to accept the challenge.

At first, it seemed like he had the upper hand. She lost a knight early, and her queen was boxed in by a clever bishop move. But then... strange things started happening.

His rook went missing. Pieces were moving when he wasn’t looking. Every time he turned his head, there was another dino peeking from the bushes. One even coughed like Jeff Goldblum.

That’s when he realized — she wasn’t playing alone.

Her pack was helping. One distracted him with a mirror. Another scribbled chess moves in the dirt. And one very sneaky Velociraptor blew his hat off with a gust of wind, causing him to knock over half the board.

Checkmate.

She tilted her scaly head. He sighed. “Clever girl.”

Whether you’re a raptor ready to dominate or a ranger brave enough to try, you can experience the same prehistoric mind games with the Jurassic Park Chess Set from The Noble Collection, available now on Fragstore.com.

Just beware of the helpers in the tall grass.
