The Citadel Colour 18ml Contrast Ultramarines Blue Acrylic Paint from the acrylic paints range provides a superb quality paint for Warhammer 40K and Games Workshop model making.
With a unique formulation, Contrast paints have many uses. They can be applied over a white basecoat to base, shade, and layer a miniature in one go, or they can be used to glaze or tint other paints.
Contrast – Step 1
You can use Contrast paints straight from the pot. Simply apply them onto a miniature basecoated with Grey Seer, Wraitbone, or White Scar.
Contrast – Step 2
You can wick the paint away if you have applied too much – it will flow into recesses and apply pigment to the raised areas. Apply another coat if you want a richer colour!
Contrast – Step 3
If you want a subtler effect, thin your Contrast paints using Contrast Medium. To do this, mix them on a palette.
Contrast – Step 4
You can also apply Contrast over metallics or other colours, to create blends, transitions or glazes. Just make sure you start thin, and work up.
